Hard water slows or stops flowers from drinking. Deodorizer's, reverse osmosis or rain water will add longer life to your flowers.
Bacteria kills flowers.
Use disinfectants to clean all containers. Change water every four days. Disinfect tools used to cut fresh flowers.
Ethylene Gas harms certain flowers:
Roses, Lilly's, Freesia, Daffodils, Snapdragon, Stock and others are affected. Some items which are sources of high quantities of ethylene gas. Fruit, gasoline, firewood, tobacco are certainly items to keep away from these flowers.
